- "Direct Transfer - The 'Liquilassie,' a familiar visitor to Port Stanley, unloads part of her oil cargo directly to a Sterling Fuels truck tanker. A major source of oil products in this part of Ontario, the company's huge storage capacity is essential to supply markets after the closing of the navigation season." (3a)
- "Familiar Vessel - Port Stanley's largest regular arrival, the 'Peter Reiss,' carries 7,600 tons of American coal in one load. An aid to the economy, the American crews are the largest buyers of Canadian liquor from the local government store." (3b)
