- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published November 24, 1958 with caption: "Hon. George Pearkes, V.C., Minister of National Defence, arrived at R.C.A.F. Station Aylmer shortly before noon today to talk with district officials about future plans for the air station. Municipal officials from Aylmer, Springfield, and St. Thomas hope to be able to prevent the proposed closing of the station. Here Mr. Pearkes alights from the R.C.A.F. Transport Command aircraft, flanked by Air Vice-Marshal J.G. Bryans, Air Officer of Training Command, left, and Wing Commander Arthur H. Moody, Commanding Officer of the R.C.A.F. Station Aylmer. Others in Mr. Pearkes' party were Air Commodore Murray Lister, Chief of Training, and B.C. Hofley, secretary to Mr. Pearkes, who can be seen in the rear."
