- "Provincial Honors - These three girls were awarded provincial honors certificates and pins for their participation in the Elgin County 4-H Homemaking Clubs, at a a special Achievement Day program at the Dutton Town Hall, Saturday. From left to right, are Anne Johnston of the Clachan 4-H Club, Barbara Lackey, Wallacetown No. 3 Club, and Nancy Anne Hull, Tyrconnell. Another girl to win the provincial honors was Marianne Hunter, Cowal Club, who was not present for the picture. Aboout 110 girls from several clubs in the western part of the county, took part in the Achievement Day, with its theme, The Club Girl Entertains." (137a)
- "County Honors - A total of seven 4-H girls won county honors at a 4-H Homemakers' Club Achievement Day at the Dutton Town Hall, Saturday. Sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the afternoon program featured many displays by the girls in attendance. Seated here are, from left, Deidre Hilary of the Dutton Club, Leslie Pearce, Wallacetown No. 2; Nancy Carroll, Iona Station; while those standing are, from left, Marilyn Miller, New Glasgow No. 1; Sharon Schram, Iona Station, Carol Kriter, New Glasgow No. 1, and Rosemary Beer, Dutton."
