- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published May 18, 1960 with caption: "Work Proceeding - Work on the new 13-classroom addition to the Junior Collegiate on Chestnut street is proceeding on schedule. In the above photo can be seen foundation walls for the $702,000 addition, which will more than double the size of the existing school. The Central Elgin District High School Board hopes to have at least part of the new wing in operation when school opens in the fall. The addition will bring the Junior Collegiate up to the maximum allowable size, able to accomodate an enrolment of more than 1,000 students."
