- A letter from George Leverton to Summers Corners Public School, relating to the history of the Elgin County Crest, December 17, 1991. He basically states that he was not able to find very much information on the history of the crest, except that the fur of the beaver was important in the development of the country, and the reasons for needing to develop a crest.
