- Scope and Content
- Four black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published February 10, 1967 with captions:
- "Kept Back By Heat- Intense heat from the spiralling gas flames at first kept firemen from advancing any more than about 20 yards from the burning fuel carrier and workshop at the Central Pipe Line plant yesterday (February 9, 1967). More photographs on front page, second section." (1a) Mac Chapman is pictured at centre. He worked at Aylmer Tire Service and served as a volunteer firefighter.
- "Keep Flames From Truck- Firemen played hoses on a second propane truck parked next to the burning workshop, fearing that it was full of gas and likely to blow its release valves in the intense heat. However, it was learned later that the tank was empty." (1b)
- "Coffee Break- With gas still burning in the background, firemen took time out for a 6 p.m. coffee at the scene of the Central Pipe Line Co. Ltd. fire yesterday. They left only after all the gas had burned itself out and there was no danger of the fire rekindling itself." (1c)
- "Wall Of Flames- The burning propane gas truck acted as a blow torch to destroy the workshop in which it had been located at the Central Pipe Line Co. Ltd. plant in Aylmer yesterday. Heat from the twin fingers of blazing gas could be felt 50 yards from the scene." (1d)
