- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 6, 1981 with caption: "A New Beginning - Ann Lang, left, and Clara Field, both of RR 5 St. Thomas, were chosen to turn the first sod for First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church's new building, which is to be constructed at the intersection of the Sparta-Union Road and County Road 22. Mrs. Lang has been a member of the church since 1933, while Mrs. Field has been a member since 1934. The old church building, which was built almost 150 years ago, will be demolished after the new structure is completed. Church officials hope that will be done by October 18, the official 150th anniversary of the church."
