- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 15, 1972 with caption: "Surprise Visitor - The St. Thomas Municipal Airport had one of its largest visitors drop in for coffee and an instrument check, Friday afternoon, when this Canadian Forces de Haviland DAC-5 Buffalo aircraft stopped by on a routine training flight from its base at Trenton. Although it serves as a training aircraft, the Buffalo's main role is as a tactical transport, hauling both personnel and cargo. The aircraft normally carries a crew of four and boasts a gross flying weight of more than 20 tons. Despite its size, the aircraft landed and took off from the local airport with ease."
