- "Retiring Librarians - Art Miskelly, representing the Elgin County Library Board, was on hand at the St. Thomas Public Library to honour four branch employees on their retirements. From left, Mrs. Jean Farquhar for her 13 years service in Belmont; Mrs. Bessie Ryan, nine years in the Bayham branch; Mrs. Helen Smith, nine years service in Port Stanley; and Miss Winifred Reed, the former chief librarian in St. Thomas, who was being honoured for her work as a volunteer librarian at Elgin Manor." - "Longevity Honoured - Two members of the Elgin County Library's main branch were presented with pins Wednesday at a ceremony recognizing their long term of service to the county.
