- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 28, 1981 with caption: "Upgrade Quality- Jack Vannoord, right, launch co-ordinator of the paint department at Ford's St. Thomas Assembly Plant, discusses the paint finish on prototype front-ends of the new Ford EXP and Mercury LN-7 with Rick Curran and Ken Howard, right, operators involved in the recently introduced quality upgrade program. Under this program, hourly workers have been selected as quality upgrade operators to assist in maintaining high quality standards during production. From one to three quality upgrade personnel will be assigned to each assembly zone. Production on the new cars will start February 16, with public launch scheduled for mid-April."
