- "Service and diagnostic data are evaluated and compared instantly at Ford Motor Company's Service Research Centre in Dearborn, Mich. This time-sharing teletype console is linked to Ford's Technical Computer Centre. Information from the Service Research Centre is fed daily into the computer centre's memory banks." (C8 Sh4 B2 F1 75a)
- "Actual road conditions are simulated in the four-station diagnostic lane at Ford Motor Company's Service Research Centre in Dearborn, Mich. Under simulation, an automobile is tested for acceleration, transmission shift point, road horsepower, speedometer accuracy, fuel-pump performance, carburetor operation and ignition-system performance. Three other stations test brakes, wheels, and shock absorbers and many other automobile components." (C8 Sh4 B2 F1 75b)
- "This four-station diagnostic lane is the proving ground for advanced diagnostic techniques and equipment at Ford Motor Company's Service Research Centre in Dearborn, Mich. It also will be a model for Ford Service Clinics being established in metropolitan areas throughout the country. Station one is for visual inspections and preliminary tests. Station two simulates actual road conditions through use of a chassis dynamometer. Station three analyzes brakes, wheels and steering. Station four tests wheel balance, shock absorbers and ball joints." (C8 Sh4 B2 F1 75c)
