- "Inspection Of Ranks- The Elgin Regiment held its annual inspection at the St. Thomas armory last night, with more than 100 officers and men on parade. Seen here talking to one of the troops is Col. A. R. McIntosh, district commander of militia and reviewing officer at the inspection. Beside him is Maj. W. W. Foster, officer commanding, 'A' squad. Col. McIntosh said the turnout and dress were the best he'd ever seen." (C8 Sh4 B1 F1 51a)
- "Trooper Sleith- Regimental Sergeant Major K. Olson of the Elgin Regiment must have had a difficult time accounting for the extra trooper on parade at the regiment's annual inspection yesterday. Volunteer Harold Sleith, son of Mr and Mrs. H. B. Sleith of 37 Wilson Avenue, is seen here doing his best to add to the occasion." (C8 Sh4 B1 F1 51b)
