- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 9, 1980 with caption: "Queen Hopefuls Practise For Match- The Queen of the Furrows will be selected at the Elgin plowing competition come September, perhaps from among these young ladies representing East Elgin at the meet. The gals were on hand yesterday at the Jack Irish farm near Lyons, taking their turns at the wheel of the tractor. Plowing ability will play a large role in the selection of the Queen. From left to right are Rhonda Prong of Sparta, Rosemary Reymer, Aylmer, Sue Prong, Rhonda's sister, and Lynda Prong, matriarch of the Prong family and first furrow queen back in 1960."
