- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published October 23, 1975 with caption: " Getting Ready - Officials from the Elgin County Plowmen's Association were busy at the farm of Albert Auckland of R.R. 7, St. Thomas, Wednesday getting ready for the annual Elgin Plowing Match this Saturday. Here Mr. Auckland (left) and Leslie Armstrong, president of the association, drive a stake in the ground while preparing the course. The match begins Saturday at the Auckland farm, about one-half-mile west of Talbotville on Highway 3, with registration slated for 9:30 a.m., and actual plowing to begin at 10 a.m."
