- Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published October 26, 1970 with captions: "Happy Gathering- Following Saturday's Elgin Plowing Match, contestants and officials gathered at the Talbotville United Church for an awards banquet Guest of honor at the dinner was Miss Mary Dolson of Brampton, Miss Ontario Queen of the Furrow, 1970. Shown with Miss Dolson are some of the big winners at the match with their trophies. From the left are Don Jamieson, R. R. 1, West Lorne; Richard Andrews, R. R. 6 of St. Thomas, Bob Ford, R. R. 3. ""Feminine Furrows- Taking part in the Elgin Plowing match, Saturday was 15-year-old Sharon Swain of R.R. 1, West Lorne. Sharon, entering the plowing match for the first time, did well against four male competitors in the junior class, finishing second. She also finished second in the combination coach-competitor class, with her coach, Neil Gilchrist of Rodney, in the contest at the farm of Albert Andrews, R.R. 6, St. Thomas." (C8 Sh5 B2 F8 8b)
