- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 10, 1959 with caption: "Plowing Match Site - Two Elgin farms have been chosen for the site of the 1960 International Plowing Match. The farms - those of Thomas Hume and Son and Charles Clarke - are located three miles north of Aylmer just off Highway 73 on the Springfield road. This picture shows the Clarke farm. Other adjoining farms will also be used as part of the plowing match site. In all about 800 acres will be needed, with the Hume and Clarke farms providing about half of the area."
