- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published July 15, 1981 with caption: "New Blood Urgently Needed - Barbara Perry, St. Thomas Red Cross executive secretary, is ready to greet new donors at emergency blood clinic today, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Central United Church. With many regular donors on vacation, a heavy demand for blood has reduced supplies to critical level throughout Southwestern Ontario. Red Cross is looking for 300 donors today and has hopes one-third of them will be new givers getting into the habit of regularly giving the gift of life."
