- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published September 11, 1981 with caption: "Injured In Mishap - Mrs. Gertrude Palmer, of RR 7, St. Thomas, is assisted by police and ambulance attendants after being placed on a stretcher following a Thursday afternoon traffic accident at the corner of Mitchell and Southwick Street. Mrs. Palmer was taken to St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, treated and released. Her vehicle was westbound on Mitchell and a vehicle driven by Edwin T. Banghart of 59 Metcalfe Street was southbound on Southwick when the mishap occurred. Damage to the Palmer vehicle is estimated at $1,500 and to the Banghart vehicle $2,000. City police sergeant Gord Cook is the investigating officer."
