- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 22, 1981 with caption: "We Love You Ronnie - Ron Smith was the hero of Springfield last week although he was simply embarrassed by all the fuss. He discovered the decorations covering his house when he arrived home from work after midnight Friday. A small tree in the yard was even blazing brightly with Christmas lights. 'I just didn't know what to think,' he said. Mr. Smith helped to avoid a disaster last week [June 18, 1981] by turning off a leaking valve on an ammonia tanker."
