- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 21, 1976 concerning the drowning deaths of Gary Daniel Cook, 21, of 119 Centre Street, St. Thomas, and Llewelyn Francis Cole, 21, of Pond Mills Road, London, in an abandoned gravel pit two miles east of Sparta. Published with caption: "Two Drowned - Two youths in their early 20s drowned just east of Sparta early this morning in an abandoned gravel pit. OPP constable Norm Patterson and Derek Straith, both standing at left, were called in to find the bodies in the murky waters."
