- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published July 22, 1976 with caption: "Minor Injuries, Damage Heavy in Bus-Truck Mishap - Three people were examined and discharged from St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital after they were involved in a transport truck-bus accident Wednesday about 4:30 p.m. City bus driver, Charles Fugard, 33, of Elm Street; the driver of the truck, Ronald Brown, 19, of Chester Street; and a passenger in the bus, Mary Dolphin, of Talbot Street, suffered minor injuries. The bus was travelling west on Redan Street, and the transport was southbound on Woodworth Avenue when the collision occurred. There were only three passengers on the bus at the time, according to a police report. Damage to the right side, wheels, windows and undercarriage of the bus is estimated at $13,500. Police say the truck is a write-off estimating damage at $5,000. Afurther $25 damage to the grass on a nearby median was also reported. City firefighters stood by in case a fire resulted."
