- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published March 20, 1976 with caption: "Two Injured - St. Thomas Deputy Police Chief George Reid, 64, lying at left, is attended to by two driver-attendants of the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Ambulance Service about 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon following a motorcycle mishap in front of the police station on St. Catharine Street. Mr. Reid and his wife, Verna, at right, were riding a motorcycle that was involved in a collision with a car, and Mr. Reid suffered a broken left leg and is in satisfactory condition in hospital today. Mrs. Reid was treated for minor injuries and discharged. Constable Tom Hodges is at left."
