- Donation provenance: "Donated to the Elgin County Museum by Harley R. Cummings".
- Scope and Content
- Signature quilt created by women in the community of Fingal to be used in a raffle to raise funds for the war effort in the First World War. Letter accompanying quilt reads: "My uncle, Arthur Victor Dowler Ball was manager of a Bank in Fingal and, I believe won this quilt in a draw. The quilt was obviously a fund raising effort by the ladies in Fingal at the time of World War 1. My uncle lived latterly at 96 Metcalfe St. St. Thomas. This item should be of considerable local interest and is presented to your museum. Signed, Harley R. Cummings".
