- History / Biographical
- This building was built in 1842 by John McKay, a merchant who became the first Registrar of Elgin County. It is the oldest brick house in the city, and has historically been referred to as "Cedar Hurst." The McKay and Mulligan families were the primary occupants of the house. The house was later converted to a day spa, called Cedar Hurst Salon and Spa.
