- File contains records relating to the Marler vs. St. Thomas Times-Journal court case in 1939, in which Leonard Marler sued the St. Thomas Times Journal for publishing an article, titled, "Leonard Marler, Committed from St. Thomas (Ontario Hospital) Sues his Father, Doctor, for $300,000." The proceedings were held in Elgin County and in the Supreme Court of Ontario. File includes legal correspondence, affidavits, transcripts of sworn testimonies, and other legal documents.
File also contains a letter, dated October 26, 2004, from Edward Phelps, addressed to the National Archives of Canada, inquiring about the appropriate repository for the long-term storage and preservation of the records.
