Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, June 9, 1953, page nine, 1_858: “Ten of 11 members of Elgin Lodge, 32, I.O.O.F., were present Monday night at a special ceremony when Past Grand Master C. A. Hutcheson, of London, Ont., presented them with 50-year jewels. The 11 men represent a membership totaling 611 years. Dean of them all was John Grimstead, 91, who has been with the Order 69 years. He is seen seated in front at the left. Others (seated left to right) are: George E. Brown; Sam Joliffe; Thomas Cox. Standing at rear: James Stewart; George Cook; Fred Hill; Foster Cook; Frank Axford; George Bloye. Absent through illness is George Grant.”
