- The house was built in circa 1833, using wood manufactured by Robert and Samuel Fulton, owners of a saw mill and veneer factory.
- Scope and Content
- A photograph showing individuals, likely from the West Elgin Genealogical and Historical Society, at 8058 Union Road, Fingal (9a), and a photograph showing the during restoration (9b). This house was purchased by Norman Ripley (1923-2012) and Mary Ripley (nee Davies; 1922-2015) in 1984 and carried out extensive renovations, likely around the time these photographs were taken. The Ripleys owned and operated Ripley's Variety Store in Fingal, and Norman was a musician who performed throughout the county.
