Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, May 11, 1953, page one: “Rushing the Season a Bit.”
1_506: “Last year, this young man, Harold Clark, Jr., 125 Elm street, opened the swimming season at Lake Pinafore during the Easter holidays, but his friends wouldn’t believe him when he told them he’d gone in that early. On Saturday afternoon, he opened the 1953 season and has documentary evidence in this Stollery photo to prove it. Young Clark found the water cold and wet, but he didn’t seem to mind in the least.”
