2_2758: “Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Hodgkin, residents of the Talbot Road just west of Straffordville, will observe the sixty-ninth anniversary of their wedding on Thursday of this week. Their children are arranging a party in their honor on that evening. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Hodgkin, of Straffordville, Mr. Hodgkin was born on the farm on which he still resides. The homestead fifty acres of the originally one-hundred acre farm is occupied by his youngest brother, Marcus Hodgkin, and Mrs. Hodgkin, but Simeon, the eldest brother of the family, resided on the other fifty acres, where he has farmed throughout his life. At first, he carried on a dairy farm, but latterly has grown tobacco.”
