- Scope and Content
- Photographs of a garage over top of a truck, which is being used to move the garage to a new location. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, January 22, 1953, page ten: “There Are Tricks in All Trades.” 2_2571: “The easiest way to move a garage, says Danny Palmer, of Talbotville, is to back a truck inside, jack up the building, lower it on the rack of the truck and drive away. That’s how he moved this garage, originally situated on a Metcalfe street property here, to David Collis’ home just east of the St. Thomas Gold and Country Club at Union. With the front doors of the garage wired shut, only the tires of the truck showed beneath the garage as it trundled down the highway to Union. The cameraman who took this picture Wednesday afternoon observed that there was no rear license plate on the garage.”
