- Scope and Content
- Photographs of a 1935 Dodge that rolled into a ravine. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, January 13, 1953, page seven: “Goes to Dump of Own Accord.” 2_2515: “It wasn’t ready for the dump heap, but that’s where this 1935 Dodge would up late last evening at the bottom of the Palm street fill near the banks of Mill Creek. It’s owner, a St. Thomas Brewers’ Warehouse truck driver, had been visiting friends on Mabel street Monday evening and left the car standing at the curb. When he came out, the car was gone. It had taken off of its own accord and traveled down the steep grade to the west and over the north side of the Palm street fill in the ravine, rolling over and over down the steep, brush-covered embankment. There its rueful owner finally found it, surveyed it resting upside down and left it until Tuesday morning before doing anything about getting it out of there.”
