- Photographs of Conductor George H. Etheridge, H. Morris Babcock and Mrs. Etheridge. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, October 20, 1952, page eight: “Completes Fine Record On N.Y.C.” 2_1859: “George H. Etheridge completed 42 years’ service with the New York Central Railroad Company when he brought his St. Clair Branch local into the local terminal on Saturday afternoon. Conductor Etheridge is shown above with H. Morris Babcock, divisional trainmaster of the Canada Division, on the left, and Mrs. Etheridge, his wife, on the right. Many greeted the veteran when he reached the depot on his last trip. Besides relatives, rail and brotherhood officers, Wm. Hillman, president of N.Y.C. Employees’ Social and Pension Club, was on hand to extend congratulations from the rapidly-expanding organization.”
