2_1074: “Former residents of St. Thomas and Elgin County, home for the Centennial celebration, will remember Cec. Cox when he operated the British-American Service Station at Talbot and St. George Sts. Laters Mr. Cox served the farm community of Elgin as Farm Agent for the Imperial Oil Company.
"It was in 1943 that Cec. Cox started his taxi business, operating with one cab from his home. Consciencious service to the public has resulted in a great expansion, and in nine short years has grown to one of St. Thomas' largest and finest taxi services. Today seven modern air conditioned cabs serve St. Thomas citizens, and the St. Thomas-Elgin Ambulance Service is owned and operated by Cec. Cox."
