2_723: “East Elgin High School Cadet Corps inspection Friday afternoon included not only parade of the cadets but supporting numbers by the school band, mass physical training exercises, mat work, signaling and first aid demonstrations. Members of the high school band, Aylmer, from left to right: Front row, Gene Corless, Kingsley Owen, Jack Lindsay, Bob Hemphill, Manley Brown, John Mergler, Dean Axelson; second row, Ken Schultz, Cornelius Trembley, Ray Eden, Don Durkee; back row, Fred Rockus, Joe Van de Kleft, Lyn Van Patter, Alfred Grimes, Bandmaster Bill Sheppard, James Ormond, Keith Laur, Dave Grimes.”
2_721: “About 160 cadets of East Elgin High School Cadet Corps, Aylmer, were on parade Friday afternoon on the school campus during their annual inspection, and were inspected by Capt. Larry Smith. Shown inspecting the signals section are, left to right, F. C. Manders, signals instructor; Capt. Smith; Squadron Leader M. Holdom, R. C. A. F.; H.-Capt. F. C. McRitchie, padre, Elgin Regiment; Lt. W. H. McKechnie, assistant, C. T. O., London; and Sgt.-Major Harold Smith, Elgin Regiment. Operating the radio set are Jack Barker, Richard Creed and David Baxter.”
