2_541: “A Junior Choir at First United Church of from 25 to 30 girls will appear on Easter Sunday morning clad for the first time in new gowns provided by the Women’s Association of the church. The girls are seen here standing on the steps of the chancel in their new gowns of white with wine colored skirts, ties and caps. With them is T. H. Nixon, director of music at the church, who has trained them. Sunday the girls will sing four numbers. Two of them, “Easter Lilies” (Mumma) and “The Lord Is Risen Today” (Vail), they will sing alone. The other two, “Hosanna, Hosanna” (Rogers), and “Christ Arose” (arranged by Noel Benson), will be sung jointly with the senior choir. In the above photo they are (left to right): Front row—Phyllis Morfee, Joan Mortin, Tony North, Lenore Dennis, Shirley Ross, Barbara Sanderson, Jane Keith, Nan Caves. (2nd row)—Karin Lenman, Beverly Jamieson, Laura Frereman, Barbara Allen, Barbara Kaplanis, Ann Turville, Barbara Teasdale, Pat Boyd, Mona Williams, Sylvia Howorth. (3rd row)—Lynne Mycroft, Wendy Loosemore, Barbara Clark, Yvonne Ward, Glenna Sawyer, Christine Caldwell, Paula Penhale, Nancy McCallum, Marntie Dowler.”
