1_3550: “Proudly displaying their newly-presented crests, plaques and awards are the individual players and team champions of the Recreation Commission’s 1951 Minor Baseball League, who met along with their fathers and coaches, in the Elmdale School auditorium, Wednesday night. It was the occasion of the presentation of the well-earned emblems. Crests and individual awards were presented by the Elgin Police Association, represented by the president, Sergeant Wilf Whiteman. The plaques were given by Richardson’s Boys’ Store, Ashton’s Automatic Heating and Palmer’s Bicycle Shop. See story on page 15.”
