- Photographs of a group of veterans standing in front of Trinity Church, with the men in the front row holding wreaths.
Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, November 12, 1951, page one: “Colors and Wreaths Borne in Parade.”
1_3315: “Six hundred veterans and the men of two large bands, most of them also ex-servicemen, took part in the Remembrance Day parade on Sunday to Trinity Church and the Memorial Hospital, the largest since the end of World War II. In the parade a large force of the younger veterans of the late war marched with nearly an equal number of veterans of World War I, and there were even veterans of the Boer War among them, notably Lt.-Col. W.J. Green and Alderman William Stokes. The above photograph was taken at the conclusion of the impressive service at Trinity Church when the color party of Branch 41, Canadian Legion, commanded by Major E.G. King, and members of the large party of wreath bearers came out of the church. (See story, page 10).”
