Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, June 21, 1951, page one: “1951 Memorial Hospital Graduating Class.” 1_2336: “Six graduates of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing were presented with pins and diplomas on Wednesday afternoon in a beautiful ceremony held in the amphitheatre of Alma College. The 1951 graduate, from left to right are: Elizabeth Hawkins, London, Ont.; June Richardson, Aylmer; Margaret Pook, St. Thomas; Dorothea Smith, St. Thomas; Zina Hopwood, St. Thomas, and Elizabeth Jack, St. Thomas. Guest speaker at the graduation exercises, presided over by Warden of Elgin County, Charles Jackson, was Dr. B.H. McNeel superintendent of the Ontario Hospital, St. Thomas. See story on page eight.”
