Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, June 2, 1951, page twenty: “Prepare for Romantic Play of Early England.”
1_2168: “The Garden Theatre at Alma College has resounded to the romantic story of Robin Hood for some time now in preparation for the presentation of the Commencement play this evening. This is always one of the highlights of the Commencement program and this year’s play under the direction of Miss Jane Cutler promises to be a most colorful and interesting one again. The play is “Robin Hood” by Owen Davis, being given by special permission of Samuel French, Toronto, and the above picture was taken during a pause in a dress rehearsal this weekend. From left to right, its shows standing: Marilyn Hayes, of Ingersoll, as Guy of Gisbourne; Marilyn Conlin, of Guelph, as King Richard; Ruth Gibson, of Port Arthur, as Will Scarlet; and Margaret Young, of Talara, Peru, as the Bishop of Fairdale. Seated, from left to right, Beverley Montgomery, of New Liskeard, as Lady Jane; Barbara Turchan, of Dearborn, Mich., as Robin Hood; and Patty Griffin, of Lima, Peru, as Maid Marianne.”
