- History / Biographical
- The 1940 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Demonstration was held in Elgin County October 15-18, 1940, on lands adjacent to the Technical Training School (formerly and subsequently the Ontario Psychiatric Hospital), St. Thomas, Ontario and on Bannockburn Farms, property of Mitchell F. Hepburn, then Premier of Ontario. The event was held under the auspices of the Ontario Plowmen's Association, with extensive organization by the Elgin County Plowmen's Association.
