2_3495: “Prominent on the toast list at the annual of the St. Thomas Division of Canada Iron Foundries Limited, Friday evening in the Grand Central Hotel, were, left to right: F.S. Thomas, Legislative presentative for Elgin; W.C. Perrot, Montreal, manager of manufacturing with Canada Iron Foundries; J.H. Dougherty, Montreal, vice-president of Canada Iron Foundries, in charge of sales; C.S> (stan) Gilbert, superintendent of the St .Thomas plant, who was chairman of toastmaster and official host; E.E. Ritcey, Toronto, director of Canada Iron Foundries, and vice-president of the Dominion Wheel and Foundry Company, Ltd.; and C.O. (Ike) Flowers, superintendent of the Hamilton plant, which was the C.I.F. Shield for low accident frequency in 1949. Mr. Flowers was formerly on the St. Thomas staff, going to Hamilton seven years ago. W.J. Langston, president of Canada Iron Foundries, was to have attended the function but Mr. Dougherty regretted his inability to be there, He is remaining in Florida for a period because of poor health.”
