2_1361: “Typifying the spirit of the graduating class at Alma College Commencement on Tuesday is the is radiant representative of the sixty-seven members. She is Miss Jacqueline Wallwork, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wallwork, of Toronto, who with her lovely bouquet of roses and her diploma also holds the Sisk memorial prize, which she was awarded for proficiency in music. The gift of the Alumnae of the College in memory of their founder, Miss Emma Sisk, the award was presented by Mrs. J.H. Still. Picture at the entire class and report of Commencement on Page 1, section 2, and other pictures of Commencement on Page 20.”

2_1358: “This happy group chatting over coffee includes from left to right: Miss Elspeth Taylor, of Vancouver, formerly St. Thomas, a graduate of two years ago; Principle Bruce Millar; Miss Jane Crosbie, of Winter Park, Florida, formerly of Talara, Peru, also a graduate; and Mrs. J.A. McCance, presiding over the coffee urn. Miss Taylor, who has been attending the University of British Columbia for the past two years, plans to enter Queen’s University, Kingston, in the fall. Miss Cosbie is a student at Rollins College, Winter Park.”
2_1364: “Miss Graciela Carchi (centre) of Guayaquil, Ecuador, a charming prize-winner, chatting with Mrs. J.E. Gray, Jackman avenue, Toronto, and the latter’s daughter, Eleanor Gray, with whom she will spend the summer vacation. Miss Carchi was on of the students to win the Hemmingway award in Grade IX, leading in her class in English, a language of which she knew very little when she came to the college last fall.”
2_1360: “Mrs. Anna Vaucrosson, of Hamilton, Bermuda (left), was her on Tuesday to attend the graduation of her daughter, Barbara, who received her diploma in matriculation. Also in the group is Mrs. Vaucrosson’s cousin, Mrs. H.L. Copland, of Toronto (second for right), and Miss Mona Murphy, of Toronto. Miss Vaucrosson, who in the role of “Puck” was one of the stars of the Commencement play this year, will accompany her mother home for the summer vacation and plays to return to Canada in the fall and take a pre-university course at McMaster University in Hamilton.”
2_1355: “From left to right: Principal Millar, Miss Mary wicks, of Cochrane, Ont., Winner of the coveted Governor-General’s award, the bronze medal in Senior Matriculation, which was presented by Cameron Calder, M.L.A., of London, Ont.; Miss Susan Thompson, of London, Ont., the valedictorian of the graduating class; and Prof. Fred Landon, vice-principal and Dean of graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, who was the Commencement speaker.”
2_1356: “Dr. P.S. Dobson, M.A., D.D., Principal Emeritus, photographed at the reception following Commencement, chatting with Miss Margaret Grindell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Grindell, of Havana, Cuba. Miss Grindell, who graduated this year in dramatics, is one of the first group of students to come to Alma College some years who from Central and South America. She leaves this week to join her parents, who came to Canada recently, on a motor trip through Western Canada before retuning to their home in Cuba. Miss Grindell hopes to continues her dramatic studies in New York in the fall.”
