(Bob) Dear at the Regional Industrial Accident Prevention Meeting Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal on January 21, 1949, page one: "At Regional Industrial Accident Prevention Meeting." 2_150: St. thomas was well respresented at the Middlesex-Elgin section meeting of the Industrial Accident Prevention Associations held here Thursday night in the Legion Hall. L.E. Lewis, personnal manager at the Timken Roller Bearing Company and second vice-chairmen of the Section (left), presided,and indicated his pleasure at "the greatest turnout St.Thomas ever had." Next to him is Frank G. Floyd, of London chairman of the Section, who said the meeting definitely showed St. Thomas was becoming accident prevention conscious, Third from the left is S.L.Salsinger, Detroit, industrialist of the Michigan Matual Liability Company, who spoke on "Plant Maintenace and Safety," and at the right is W.I. (Bob) Dear, manager of the Monarch Knitting Company plant here, who thanked the speaker. Representatives of 36 companies in the London- St.Thomas area were present in force including those from manaement of 10 St.Thomas firms. (See report see page 20)."
