Heard, of Lambeth, Elected President for Coming Year; Brigadier Colin A. Campbell, C.B.E., of Toronto, Guest Speaker at Banquet Held in Grand Central." "Elgins Attend Service at Trinity Anglican Church; Lay Wreaths at Cenotaph: Rev. J. R. Thompson, Rector, and Hon. Capt. George Durst, Padre of Elgin Regiment Overseas, Conduct Impressive Ceremony; Memory of Fallen Comrades Honored." 1_2479: "The Elgins of World War II held their first reunion since the war in St. Thomas Saturday and Sunday. Here a group of veterans, including men now residing in all parts of Ontario, shown before forming up at the Canadian Legion Hall Sunday afternoon to march to Trinity Church for divine service." 1_2483: "Mothers Lay Wreaths on Cenotaph - After attending service at Trinity Church Sunday afternoon the Elgins, here for reunion, marched to the Memorial Hospital where Mrs. F. Hatch (left) and Mrs. B. Thurston (right), representing the mothers and wives of all the Elgins who gave their lives in World War II placed wreaths at the Cenotaph. Mrs. Hatch is the mother of Fred Hatch; Mrs. Thurston the mother of Max Thurston." 1_2484: "Two fine bands, one bugle, the other brass, led the Elgin veterans on their parade to and fron Trinity Church Sunday afternoon." 1_2485: "Registrations for the first reunion of the Elgins of World War II started at one o'clock Saturday at the Armories. Here is shown a group of the boys being greeted by members of the registration committee, Bill Stollery, Al Kingston, Cliff Birnie and Firth Stokes."
