- History / Biographical
- The building in the foreground was originally the Roadnight's Hotel, owned and operated by Charlie Roadnight starting in 1880. Over the years, it was also operated by Alexander Henderson, John Coles, William Alexander and J.W. Boughner. As of circa 1920, the building no longer operated as a hotel and various retail businesses and restaurants occupied the block. By the 1970s, most of the space had been converted into apartments. Information taken from "Down the Street to Yesterday" publication (p. 229-230).
