- Two black-and-white negative photographs featuring Aldborough Public School's skating on the basketball court behind their school, on February 12, 1981.
- R13 S3 Sh6 B3 282a was published in the Rodney Mercury on February 12, 1981, with the caption: "Aldborough Public School students have been enjoying a sheet of ice on the basketball court prepared by one of their teachers, Mr. Peter McLachlin. During the recent thaw a rink-size pond appeared and froze, offering a good base, so Mr. McLachlin flooded it a few time the following cold weekend, with the assistance of custodian John Martin, giving students a place to work off their excess energy. Having a rink behind the school permits maximum skating time and is far better and far less expensive than bussing students to Rodney's recreation hall, Principal Dave Ballantine explains. He, teachers, and students are grateful to Mr. McLachlin for arranging the skating rink."
