- Scope and Content
- Five black-and-white negative photographs featuring the new playground equipment at Aldborough Public School, on May 17, 1979.
- R13 S3 Sh6 B2 429a was published in the Rodney Mercury on May 17, 1979, with the caption: "A $1,640 piece of playground equipment was installed at Aldborough Public School Saturday morning by male members of the School's Volunteer Parents Group. Here a number of fathers are seen pushing and shoving to make the frame suspended walkway meet the tower. Money for the equipment was raised by mother members of the group selling milk and hot dogs at the school over a two-year period, plus a $600 Wintario grant. Monday was Professional Development day, so a holiday for students, but Tuesday the equipment was "covered" with children, according to Principal Floyd Patterson. Stairs at the right hand end leads up to the tower from where students walk down bars to a suspended walkway - 2 x 6' on chain, and then slide down a slide at the left-hand end."
