- A black and white photograph showing officials gathered at the ground breaking ceremony for St. Thomas' first high rise building on October 18, 1968. The building was constructed on the site of the former St. Thomas Metal Signs property at the west end of Talbot Street. Townhouse Towers, the name of the building, was built by St. Thomas-Elgin Buildings Co-operative (STEBCO). Andrew Chisolm, President of the St. Thomas Board of Trade and Mayor Vincent A. Barrie are pictured holding the shovel (right and left, respectively). Donald Hitch, President of STEBCO, is pictured second to the left of Barrie.
