- History / Biographical
- George Gray was a resident of St. Thomas from 1909-1938. He was the Principal of St. Thomas Collegiate Institute from 1932-1938, and was then appointed high school inspector for the Ontario Department of Education, a position he held until 1954. Additionally, Gray played an active role in the creation of the Elgin County Pioneer Museum (Elgin County Museum). Gray was married to Ann (nee Duncan), and had two sons, Duncan and Jack. Gray passed away in Toronto on November 8, 1975, at age 90.
