- Scope and Content
- Two black-and-white negative photographs featuring a hundred year old turtle, on April 5, 1973.
- W9 B6 206a was published in the West Lorne Sun on April 5, 1973, with the caption: "100-year-old snapping turtle was found south of West Lorne Sunday by Jim Kovachs. While a turtle its size and estimate age is rare, making it even more so is the fact that on its back five letters have been engraved -- CP APR -- in two lines. The finder and others have been trying to link the CP to initials of people who might have done the engraving on the hard shell. The APR is considered to mean April, but there are no numerals to show the date the shell was inscribed. Anyone knowing anything about the interesting letters should contact The Mercury-Sun. Mr. J. A. Bosman estimated its age because of the size of the mean tempered creature. Jim released it in a suitable body of water Sunday afternoon after the picture was taken."
